Not Recommended

We follow the conservative approach and do not offer prenatal massage during the first trimester. The risk of miscarriage is naturally higher during this period regardless of massage, but we prefer caution. Please wait until 13 weeks.

Second Trimester
13-26 weeks

Ideal Time to Start

This is the best time to begin regular prenatal massage. The risk of miscarriage has dropped significantly, the belly is growing but manageable, and aches are beginning. Monthly sessions are ideal.

Third Trimester
27-40 weeks

Most Beneficial

Discomfort peaks in the third trimester with back pain, swelling and sleeplessness. Bi-weekly or weekly sessions deliver maximum relief as you approach your due date. We adjust pressure and positioning for your growing belly.

Important: If you have a high-risk pregnancy, placenta previa, pre-eclampsia, blood clots or any pregnancy complications, please consult your doctor before booking. We always conduct a brief health screening before your session.

Arrival and Consultation

Arrive 10 minutes early. Your therapist will ask about your pregnancy stage, any discomforts, health conditions and areas of concern. This helps us customise your session for maximum safety and benefit.

Comfortable Positioning

You will be comfortably positioned on your side on a padded therapy table with supportive pillows between your knees and under your head and belly. We never ask pregnant clients to lie face-down.

Gentle Warm-Up

Your therapist begins with light effleurage strokes on the back, hips and legs to warm up the tissues, increase circulation and help you settle into a deeply relaxed state.

Targeted Relief Work

Focused work on your key areas of discomfort - lower back, sacrum, hips, shoulders and legs. Techniques are adapted for pregnancy, avoiding deep pressure on certain points and areas contraindicated during gestation.

Foot and Leg Care

Gentle foot massage and lymphatic drainage on the legs and ankles helps reduce the oedema (swelling) that builds up during pregnancy. This is often reported as the most relieving part of the session.

Calm Close and Aftercare

The session ends with gentle calming strokes to ease you back to full awareness. Your therapist will share aftercare tips - drink water, rest for 20 minutes and note any sensations over the next 24 hours.

At Raipur SPA, our therapists are specifically trained in prenatal massage protocols. We recommend waiting until the second trimester (after 12 weeks) and always consult your doctor before booking.

Prenatal massage is generally recommended from the second trimester onwards (13 weeks+). The second and third trimesters are when pregnancy discomforts like back pain, swollen feet and poor sleep are most pronounced, making massage most beneficial. We do not offer massage during the first trimester as a precautionary measure.

At Raipur SPA we use a comfortable side-lying position with supportive pillows placed between the knees and under the belly for full support. This position is the safest for pregnancy as it avoids pressure on the abdomen and the vena cava vein. We never place pregnant clients face-down.

Prenatal massage at Raipur SPA starts at Rs. 999 for a 60-minute gentle session. Our 90-minute Complete Prenatal Therapy is Rs. 1,499, and the 120-minute Mama Glow Ritual (which includes scalp and face massage) is Rs. 1,999.

Most expecting mothers benefit from a prenatal massage once a month during the second trimester and once every two weeks during the third trimester as discomfort increases. In the final weeks before delivery, weekly sessions are often recommended. Always follow your doctor's guidance.

Yes. At Raipur SPA we use only pregnancy-safe carrier oils such as coconut oil and sweet almond oil for prenatal massage. We avoid essential oils that are contraindicated during pregnancy. You can request an unscented session if you have fragrance sensitivity.

We strongly recommend consulting your OB/GYN before booking, especially if you have a high-risk pregnancy, placenta previa, pre-eclampsia or any pregnancy complications.
